A woman who showed up uninvited to the Bali hotel where Saudi King Salman is staying has been arrested after she appeared with “gifts” for the king.

EDP, 40, of North Sumatra was reportedly arrested at the St. Regis Bali on Monday.

The woman, wearing a long white dress, was clutching a bag and insisted upon meeting the king at about 1 pm.

She looked confused and was unable to properly account for herself, according to Police Brigadier General Nyoman Suryastra.

“She could not account for the purpose of her arrival so she was detained,” Kompas quoted Suryastra as saying.

Upon her arrival, Saudi security officers immediately approached EDP and coordinated with police.

Police took EDP to a security post in Nusa Dua for questioning for an hour.

From EDP, police seized her bag and reportedly handed it over to a Police Bomb Squad Team to find that the bag contained a laptop and about 500 sheets of paper, which had poems on them.

“She said they were poems for King Salman,” Suryastra said.

Police speculate that the woman’s mental health is a factor in the incident.

“From the results of the physical examination and questioning, she allegedly suffers from a mental disorder,” former head of Bali Police’s Bureau of Human Resources, Binkar said, as quoted by Tribun Bali.

King Salman and an entourage of more than 1000 are staying in Bali to “relax”. The king is visiting Bali on the Indonesian leg of his Asian tour. He’s apparently been enjoying his time here so much that he’s decided to extend his stay.
