Woman allegedly smoking on Bali flight was seen sobbing when escorted from plane, now under investigation

Obviously you’re not supposed to smoke on commercial flights, but one woman on Jetstar flight JQ44 from Bali to Melbourne apparently lit up anyway.

She is now reportedly being investigated by the Australian Federal Police, after her smoke started making its way through the cabin and passengers alerted flight crew that she was smoking in her seat.

Upon landing in Melbourne on Sunday night, the woman was seen being escorted off the plane, sobbing, and taken into custody by Australian Federal Police.

“Smoking is strictly prohibited on board our flights and our cabin crew acted quickly when they became aware of this,” a Jetstar spokesperson told Fairfax Media.

“The flight continued through to Melbourne and the AFP met the passenger upon landing.”
