Bali’s police force has a new chief, but his wife apparently got here before Mr. Kapolda Bali himself.
Ritha Fazileth came into Bali on Thursday from Jakarta, while her husband, Inspector General Sugeng Priyanto is scheduled to start serving on Monday after some stints abroad, reports Tribun Bali.
Priyanto succeeds former Bali police chief, Inspector General Ronny F. Sompie, who early last August was tapped for the big job of Indonesia’s head of immigration.
We’re glad the position is finally being filled, since when Sompie left, Deputy Chief Brig. Gen. Nyoman Suryasta was put in charge as acting police chief, but his hands were reportedly tied on some counts with his position’s limited authority.
