The weather in Bali was so intense that the airport shut down for a bit

Bali’s Ngurah International Airport shut down for one and half hours on Wednesday because of rough weather conditions.

“It was closed from about 11:30 am until 1 pm, because of bad weather,” Angkasa Pura Ngurah Rai General Manager Trikora Harjo said on Wednesday, as quoted by Tribun Bali.

Visibility was down below 300 meters, dangerous conditions for flights, according to Harjo.

Harjo claims all went back to normal after the shut down and even remarked that there were no complaints from travelers—maybe none that he heard. We’re just glad to hear that the airport is prioritizing safety!
