Water pipe explosion at Jimbaran hotel sends tourist to hospital with severe injuries: reports

A tourist has been evacuated to Sanglah Hospital after a water piping system allegedly exploded in a Jimbaran hotel, severely burning the victim’s face. 

The victim, Kholiawati, got the severe burns from an explosion at Paragon Resort Bali on Jl. Raya Kampus Udayana on Monday afternoon, Tribun Bali reports. 

The 41-year-old had been rushed to Udayana Hospital but was reportedly evacuated to Sanglah because of the severity of the burns. 

Based on information gathered by Tribun, the blast happened around 12:45 pm and a security guard from the hotel, Ketut Risa, 45, confirmed the incident. 

“The witness confirmed that the explosion was from a water pipe. As a result of the explosion, the hotel walls cracked,” South Kuta Police Chief I Wayan Latra told Tribun Bali. 

The victim was still under treatment in Sanglah’s ER as of writing time.
