WATCH: Alleged Aussie pedophile says young girls he’s accused of assaulting in Bali are his ‘friends’

An unsettling video has been making the rounds on Bali social media of an alleged Australian pedophile speaking publicly outside his sentencing hearing in Denpasar yesterday.

Robert Andrew Fiddes Ellis, does not think he deserves to be locked up and sees no errors in his ways. The 70-year-old bearded Aussie—who looks like he just stepped out of an episode of Duck Dynasty—is accused of molesting 11 young girls in Bali.

“I feel for certain that I haven’t done anything serious enough to be in prison,” he says in the video that’s been shared to Facebook by Project Karma, an Australian-registered NGO operating in Southeast Asia that deals with child sex exploitation and child trafficking for sex abuse.

He would allegedly lure young girls to his place of residence in Tabanan, Bali with cash, food, and clothes, in return for bathing them before sexually abusing them.

“I’ve settled with the girls completely, I’ve paid them generously,” the alleged pedophile said, as if money was really the issue here.

Ellis was supposed to be sentenced on Wednesday, but Denpasar judges said they are not yet ready to make their ruling on the case, so sentencing has been postponed

The Aussie’s most chilling words come at the end of the video clips though, as a reporter asks if there’s anything he would want to say to his alleged victims: “Just that I’m always thinking of them, they’re my friends.”

While there’s been buzz of Indonesia imposing laws carrying chemical castration as a punishment for child sex offenders, that hasn’t gone into effect yet and Ellis is facing a much less permanent punishment. Prosecutors previously demanded that the Aussie get 16 years behind bars, despite many calls from child advocates pushing for a heavier punishment.
