An Algerian man was arrested by Kuta Police after getting caught using a stolen bank card at a Bali nightclub.
Police have thrown Hacane Hanifi, 46, into jail for stealing the wallet of Rosalinda Octaviani, 22.
Kuta Police Commissioner Wayan Sumara told media that Octaviani’s wallet was stolen at a bar on Jl. Legian on Sunday.
“It’s visible from the CCTV footage that the suspect took the victim’s wallet at that time,” Sumara said, as quoted by Tribun Bali.
Not long after the wallet was stolen, Octaviani got a message from her bank that the card was used at Sky Garden, reports say.
“After that, we conducted a tracking and made arrests at the location of the bar where the victim’s debit card was used,” Sumara said.
