A 38-year-old waitress from Malang was unexpectedly found dead on Tuesday afternoon on the floor of her rented room in Sukawati.
“When I saw her, she was already face down. Her mouth had some fluid coming out, like blood,” said Sayudi, another resident of the woman’s boardinghouse, as quoted by Tribun Bali.
Police observed when they were called to the scene that Luluk Setyo Windari’s room was unlocked, her TV and fan were still on, and her room was in a tidy state.
A friend of Windari’s, I Komang Widiana, says he accompanied her the day before she was found dead, on Monday afternoon, to the bank when she wanted to transfer money.
“After going to the bank, she bought two cans of milk. We went back to our boardinghouse. I did not expect this at all. Of course I was shocked,” Widiana told Tribun Bali.
Sukawati Police Chief Ketut Dana says Windari had a seizure that happened about 12 hours before her body was found. Her tongue showed it had been bitten and clenched and that she had hit her head when she fell to the floor.
Police are continuing to look her clues and have gone through the victim’s phone. There, they noticed some text messages to her co-worker saying she could not go to work because she felt ill.
“There are no signs of violence on the victim’s body. Looking at the SMS, it reinforces the notion that the victim died due to illness. However, to ensure this, an autopsy of her corpse still needs to be done. We are waiting for her family,” Dana stated.
Windari’s body was immediately sent to the morgue at Sanglah Hospital after she was found dead.
