A viral video, posted on @balilivin, shows a pair of tattooed young men deliberately drive their allegedly rented motorbike into a swimming pool. The Jackass-style stunt is accompanied by shouts of encouragement and roars of laughter from a group of friends, who must have been watching from nearby.

The video is part of a compilation of silly tourist motorbike stunts. “Stop being a pussy and f#@ing send it!” shouts a man in an Australian accent before scooter and driver career into a hotel pool in one of the latter clips.

In another clip, possibly of the same group, holidaymakers are filmed burning out their bike engines and doing wheelies. One of the smartphone videos appears to have been captured on a Canggu shortcut road through the rice fields. Local traffic is forced to stop as one of the tourists burns out his bike engine while a scantily-clad groupie cheers on and a shirtless male friend does push ups in the middle of the road.

Posted on Saturday on @balilivin, a popular tour and travel influencer, the footage has already garnered more than 2,500 likes and hundreds of comments from disgruntled netizens. “Bogans…,” said @catherinefinneren. “It’s losers like this that ruin the charm and the beauty of this island! They have no respect and show no remorse or even examples to those that live here,” commented @Lolou_14.

While renting a motorbike is a novel and affordable way to get around for many visitors, this kind of negligent behavior shows little respect towards the poor rental companies who have to deal with the damages.

Sadly, this is not the first time that silly (or perhaps drunken) tourist antics have turned heads in Bali. Earlier this year, a video of two foreign travelers lying down in the middle of the road and pretending to be speed bumps went viral.

  1. It is a shame for the tourists and the people of Bali. Hopefully they will be caught and deported
