Two very disturbing, different videos of youth fighting, apparently in Bali, have been causing a stir amongst Bali netizens.
The first video shows two girls aggressively fighting with a crowd of onlookers. The girls hold each other in a headlock on a field throwing punches and kicks, as some of the people gathering around the fight egg them on and encourage them to fight harder.
While the video’s location was not tagged and has not been confirmed, it’s understood to be in Bali because Balinese is being spoken by people in the video.
The original video, reportedly posted to Facebook by account user “Tu Ary” has been shared over 10,000 times since it went public, according to NusaBali. Since then, many netizens have also re-uploaded and shared the video.
The video has had mixed results amongst netizens, many of whom have commented that the girls should be reported for this horrifying behavior and that this video makes Bali look bad, while others have cracked jokes, recommending that the girls are “prospective MMA or WWE athletes”.
Denpasar’s Youth Education and Sports Director Nyoman Ngurah Jimmy Sidharta told press he was horrified when saw the video, which he doesn’t doubt is in Bali.
“What is clear is that it’s in Bali based on the language and style of dress. Hopefully not in Denpasar,” Sidharta commented.
He added that authorities will be investigating the video to determine where it happened and who was involved.
The worst part about the video is that the friends were there recording instead of breaking up the fight.
The second video is quite similar, but is captioned that it’s at a high school in Denpasar. A pair of male students fight, and other students gather around. However, as one is more clearly beating up on the other, the other students in the crowd suddenly start attacking the losing student, kicking him on the crowd and throwing punches at him.
This kind of violence at such a young age is exceptionally disturbing to witness. We hope investigators are quickly able to uncover the people involved in these deplorable videos and that this footage doesn’t inspire copycats.
