A middle-aged Australian male was arrested yesterday by authorities in Bali after they received a complaint about his behavior. He may face deportation out of Indonesia.

According to officials, the Aussie, who is identified by his initials DJW (59), lived in the home of a local rent-free before acting like the king of the house and ordering his host around.

DJW reportedly had no place to stay, as he wandered and begged for money in Buduk Village in Mengwi, Badung. According to Badung Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) Chief I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara, DJW told the authorities that he had run out of money and became sick.

“Because he was penniless and became a beggar, a resident took him in,” Suryanegara told Coconuts Bali.

The host, a man named Restu, had his good intentions repaid in the worst way when DJW became a burden after staying at the house for one week.

“For example, he asked for food and then this and that. Is he a king? This bule ordered the host around and became a burden and thus a report was filed,” he said, adding that the person who filed the report was a local named I Putu Sudarmayasa.

DJW was apprehended yesterday and Satpol PP handed the case over to immigration, recommending the Aussie for deportation.
