Ubud couple arrested for dumping baby in irrigation channel

A young Bali couple was reportedly arrested in Ubud for dumping a newborn baby girl.

Anak Agung Ngurah Adyatmika, 28, and Ni Putu Yesi Wisma Yanti, 26, were arrested in Sayan, Ubud over a baby that was found dead in Ubud on Thursday, according to Tribun Bali

“We managed to arrest the two lovers yesterday (Monday). They are both believed to be parents of the infant found dead,” said Gianyar Police Chief Farman.

When examined, both Adyatmika and Yanti reportedly confessed to throwing out the baby, giving the reason that they were both still unmarried.

The baby girl had been found in an irrigation channel by a man cleaning the space out. When found, the baby reportedly still had an umbilical cord.

While we don’t know the circumstances surrounding the young parents, we can’t help but feel disgusted by the nature of this baby’s “disposal.”
