Two riders on motorbike killed in Denpasar road accident, suspected of consuming alcohol

Two men riding a motorbike in Renon, Denpasar reportedly died after colliding with a car.

Identified in a Tribun Bali report as James Awang and Yoze, the two were reportedly involved in an accident with a car driven by Ridwan al Rizal on Jl. Raya Puputan Renon on Sunday.

Denpasar Police (Kasatlantas) Commissioner I Nyoman Nuryana said the accident was triggered when the motorbike was trying to make a pass in the direction of Jl. Tukad Musi, toward the highway.

The motorbike riders are suspected of consuming alcohol and not being able to control the vehicle, according to Tribun.

At the same time the motorbike was attempting to make a pass, the car driven by al Rizal was also apparently trying to make a pass in the opposite direction.

“Because at night it’s quiet, the motorbike driver was not looking both left and right. As a result, the motorbike ridden by the two men was hit by the car,” Nuryana explained.

“Both of them died at the scene,” Nuryana said, adding that their bodies were taken to Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar.
