Truck found full of motorbikes meant to be smuggled out of Bali

A truck has been stopped in its tracks in Denpasar, full of motorbikes that were apparently going to get smuggled out to Sumba.

The truck, containing 28 motorbikes, was secured by Denpasar Police Criminal Unit on Jl. Tukad Langon on Friday.

Of the 28 motorbikes, six did not have valid vehicle registration (STNK), while 12 did not contain ownership books (BPKB).

It’s still not clear where these bikes all came from, but they are believed to have been stolen.

“The truck was stopped when crossing JL. Langon. Officers became suspicious seeing many motorbikes without paperwork being transported by truck. These motorbikes are allegedly stolen,” Tribun Bali quoted an anonymous police source as saying.

Denpasar Police general crime unit chief, Reinhard Habonaran, said the case is being handed over to investigators.
