UPDATE Padang Padang truck crash kills woman and baby, police warn against retribution
A truck reportedly crashed into a home in Bali’s Padang Padang area, killing a woman and a two-year-old baby on Wednesday.
An eyewitness said the fateful accident occurred on Jl. Labuan Sait, Pecatu at 11am when the truck slid on the hilly road.
“The victims were caught between the house and the truck,” witness Nyoman Sumiarta told Tribun Bali in front of Denpasar’s Sanglah Hospital.
It’s alleged that the truck’s brakes were faulty.
The truck driver was injured in the accident and was rushed for treatment at Sanglah’s Emergency Room, according to reports.
Correction: Updated reports have cited the baby as having been aged two.
