Tourist from Czech Republic dies in motorcycle crash in Bali’s Buleleng regency

A 51-year-old man from the Czech Republic died in a motorbike accident yesterday afternoon in Buleleng regency after a truck crashed into his vehicle. 

According to the police, the tourist, identified as Martin Poledna, steered his motorbike too far to the right when he intended to make a left turn when a truck came from the opposite direction and hit his vehicle. 

Poledna had been driving with his wife, identified as Irena Poledna, on the back of the motorbike. They were immediately brought to Singaraja General Hospital after the accident. 

“Martin Poledna … was declared dead after receiving treatment at Singaraja General Hospital,” Putu Diah Kurniawandari from the Buleleng Police said in a statement received by Coconuts Bali. 

Diah said that Irena suffered minor injuries on her arms and legs from the accident, while the truck driver, who police identified as 42-year-old Putu Sawitra from Buleleng, survived without injuries, according to authorities.
