Kerobokan may be gripped with tension between rival gangs, but the latest “incident” there was apparently triggered when an inmate couldn’t control his gas (or just chose not to).
Merdeka ran a story over the weekend, reporting that a prisoner got beaten by a guard after letting one rip.
It all started when prison medical officer Kakek Isma Susanti went to prison block Candidasa to attend to an ill-feeling prisoner on Saturday.
However, when the medic was treating his patient, identified as Edy, the sound of a fart echoed throughout the cells, which apparently caused a ruckus amongst the other inmates.
Presumably, because offended by the farting inmate’s vulgar behavior, the medic ran straight out of the holding cell, “crying” and reporting the kentut to the prison guards.
In response, a prison guard reportedly pulled the ‘farter’ out of his cell for a beating. But it didn’t end there. According to Merdeka, another prisoner felt provoked by the guard’s “arrogant” attitude and came after the guard with a block.
“Luckily this incident was quickly resolved after the other prison guards directly squashed the prisoner’s anger. The guard that was pursued was able to get away from the prisoner (in time),” said an unnamed source, as quoted by Merdeka.
And let’s not forget about the sick inmate who the medical officer was there to help in the first place: “After receiving a report from the prison medic, the sick prisoner was evacuated to Sanglah Hospital,” Merdeka’s source said.
