Tired of shitty wages, Denpasar housekeeper turns to dealing meth

A 50-year-old woman working as a housekeeper in Denpasar was arrested by police for allegedly attempting to sell meth.

The woman, identified in reports by initials NA, had been working at a house on Jl. Supratman and was apparently struggling to survive on her wages as a pembantu.

“The suspect is a dealer. We arrested her after receiving information from the public. She acknowledged that she was desperate to sell meth because her salary as a pembantu rumah tangga (housemaid) was very small,” Denpasar Police Drug Unit Head Gede Ganefo told Tribun Bali on Friday.

“Based on the confession, she was supplied the drugs by her friend and for every package, she got Rp 50,000,” Ganefo explained.

NA’s tenure as a drug dealer though was apparently very short-lived, as she just started in February 2016 and had just dealt as much as five times, Ganefo said.
