Last week, Indonesian actress/singer/model Tamra Bleszynski posted on social media about her police report of an alleged harassment incident in Canggu.
This had appeared to be just another one of the many cases of women getting groped or sexually harassed while riding motorbikes in Canggu. Especially since Bleszynski commented on the end of her Instagram post that people should “be careful when going to Echo Beach.”
“Hopefully Bali can go back to being safe and the law can be enforced,” she concluded.
But apparently the incident goes beyond Bali’s level of safety and more into her personal life. Yikes.
Reports in local media have been super messy with allegations flying, but in short, Bleszynski has identified her alleged harasser by initials ‘WS’ and claims she was grabbed and threatened by him.
Some reports have claimed WS was a close friend of Bleszynski until he went bankrupt, while others have insinuated there was a romantic connection there.
However, as simply put by North Kuta Police Chief I Wayan Artha Ariawan: “It’s still under investigation.”
The motive and relationship between WS and the 41-year-old ‘star’ is still being explored, Ariawan said, as quoted by Rakyat Merdeka Online.
