Police are now saying they’re investigating the slashing of a Swiss man in Kuta, Bali.
A photo depicting a gaping slash wound on a bule man’s shoulder went viral on Bali social media yesterday. The photo’s caption said that the man was attacked at 5 am on Thursday morning near Bali Brasco, Sunset Road.
When initially contacted for comment yesterday, Kuta Police said no incident involving the man in the photo had been reported.
But now local reports are saying police are on the case of the slashing victim, identified by press as Swiss man Gregory Charles Louis, 36.
The incident happened when the victim was on the way home to West Denpasar from working at a nightclub in Legian, according to MetroBali.
Louis had been driving a motorbike on Sunset Road when two people riding a motorbike suddenly approached him and the person riding on back slashed him, allegedly with a knife, Antara reports.
Security guards in a building nearby the incident helped rush the victim to Siloam Hospital.
His cut wound is about 15-20 centimeters on his right shoulder.
Police are not yet sure what the motive is for the attack.
