Officers of Denpasar District Court arrested a prisoner who very briefly escaped as he was about to be transported to Kerobokan Prison.
The suspect, Muhammad Sulaiman, was being processed by the State Attorney’s office and apparently tried to escape for fear of being brought to LP Kerobokan, prison driver Pande told Antara Bali on Thursday. Some people will do anything to avoid Bali’s notorious Kerobokan Prison!
Sulaiman had fled by jumping the fence at Denpasar District Court and had pried open his handcuffs, reports said. But his escape was extremely short-lived as officers saw him scale the wall and shouted for nearby military members to go after him.
Sulaiman is ironically facing the unexciting charges of stealing a television.
