Bali is set to host a grueling (possibly rewarding, too – we wouldn’t know) triathlon next year.

The Sportel Bali Triathlon 2024, organized collaboratively by Transvision, Pandara Sports, and Java Festival Production, is scheduled to take place from Feb. 21 to 25. The competition endeavors to blend the thrill of triathlon with the picturesque allure of Jimbaran.

Sportel Bali Triathlon 2024 will kick off with a swimming segment at Intercontinental Jimbaran Beach. Participants in the standard category will swim a distance of 1.5 kilometers, while those in the sprint category will cover 750 meters.

Following the swim, participants will transition to cycling, tracing a route encompassing Intercontinental Jimbaran, Uluwatu Road, Ngurah Rai Road, and concluding back at Intercontinental Jimbaran. The standard category entails a 40-kilometer cycling stretch, while the sprint category covers 20 kilometers.

The competition will conclude with a running segment encompassing Jimbaran Beach, Bukit Permai Road, Karang Mas Road, Bukit Permai Road, and circling back at Jimbaran Beach. The standard category involves a 10-kilometer run, while the sprint category covers a 5-kilometer distance.

Peter F. Gontha, CEO of Transvision, expressed confidence in the event’s potential to promote healthy lifestyles and position Indonesia as a premier sports tourism destination.

“I believe that the potential of triathlon not only enriches the sports experience but also opens up income opportunities through sports tourism, while contributing significantly to enhancing Indonesia’s image as a primary destination for sports enthusiasts worldwide,” he said in a statement.

The triathlon welcomes participants of all ages and experience levels, aiming to be more than just a physical challenge, providing health benefits and a sense of personal accomplishment.

Participants have the option to choose from three packages: Sprint Distance at IDR2,063,000, Standard Distance at IDR2,635,000, and Standard Distance Relay at IDR5,265,000.

Registration fees cover participant medals, exclusive race packs, and opportunities to win substantial prizes.
