So over hearing complaints from tourists, Bali immigration will add more officers and passport counters in airport

Bali airport and immigration authorities are sick and tired of hearing of tourists complain about long lines in international arrivals, so they’ve finally decided to make a change.

More immigration officers will be added starting December 2014, says Kompiang Adnyana, the head of Bali’s law and human rights provincial office. Immigration officers brought from Jakarta will increase the number from 16 to 28, reports Antara.

December is the peak year-end holiday season with pretty hectic international tourist arrivals, so that explains the timing, says Adnyana.

The push came from the top, as Bali’s governor Made Mangku Pastika had been receiving a number of complaints from foreign tourists about having to wait for hours upon arriving in Bali. Three more passport counters will be added as well, reports say. Great, hopefully we’ll see a difference and the demand for “fast track” services will go down.
