Running at sunrise through rice paddies and small roads in the Bali countryside with villagers cheering you on makes for one hell of a marathon experience. The gorgeous view of Mt. Agung and relatively fresh air paired with that runner’s high has helped make the BII Maybank Bali Marathon one of Indonesia’s biggest running events.
Runners go so wild for the Bali Marathon that just days after opening registration for the race on April 18, marathon slots quickly sold out and the race’s official website suffered from technical issues.
But before you have a pity party, fear not, the marathon slated for August 30 announced on its official Facebook page that it will add slots for its marathon category so zealous runners can get their 42.195K in while on Bali soil. Stay plugged in with the marathon’s Twitter account (@balimarathon) if you don’t want to miss it when those spots are offered.
