Decisions have been handed down for defendants facing trial over a clash between rival gangs in Denpasar last December.
The confrontation in Denpasar’s Jl. Teuku Umar left two people dead on December 17, 2015 and was prompted by a brawl between Laskar and Baladika inside Kerobokan Prison.
Nine defendants involved in the Teuku Umar conflict have gotten sentences ranging from two to four years.
Denpasar District Court made the sentences on Tuesday.
I Dewa Kadek Dedy Kotha Widiatmika alias Dewa Jebir, Gusti Putu Eka Krisna Arianto alias Ngurah Krisna, I Wayan Ginarta alias Egi, and I Nyoman Suwanda alias Wanda all got three years—notably less than the five-year terms that prosecutors had demanded, reports Tribun Bali.
The four were found guilty of openly and jointly engaging in criminal acts that resulted in the serious injury and death of others.
Meanwhile, other defendants reportedly got a variety of other sentences. Susanto alias Antok got two years. Robertus Korli alias Rob and I Kadek Latra alias Caplus both got three years each. I Ketut Mertayasa alias Toplus got four years.
These sentences are heavier than those handed down to inmates involved in the Kerobokan Prison portion of the fight.
