Security at popular Kuta nightclub cause security problem

Things got out of hand last night (more than the usual downing shots and bogan mischief) at one of Kuta’s most notorious nightclubs Sky Garden on Jl. Legian.

Different rumors quickly circulated on Facebook and even unsubstantiated reports were published in Merdeka that disgruntled employees staged a walk out in the middle of the evening.

But Kompas News is reporting that the “chaos” at the club last night was a human resources issue, but does not cite a walkout. According to Kompas, based on talking to a Sky Garden employee who wanted to go unnamed, internal staffing issues at the club are what set off said “chaos.” The club had reportedly hired new security on contracts but still retained their permanent security staff, which caused confusion and bickering between the two camps. Reports did not go into how physical or rough the tension got, but it sounds like people were crowding around and people were not being let in for awhile.

Another report by Kompas says police were eventually able to stabilize the situation last night before it went too far out of hand.
