Search continues for missing teen in Mt. Agung area, 8 ‘Balian’ brought in

The disappearance of a Balinese teen around Mt. Agung remains a mystery.

I Wayan Putu Sri Adiguna, 15, went missing on Friday while tending to the grass in Besakih Village, according to Tribun Bali. So far just his motorbike has reportedly been found, parked in the grass.

When his dog, who is often by his side, came home on Friday without him, his family says they got a bad feeling.

So far, the family has been working with local residents, trekking guides, climbers, Rendang police, Basarnas (Search and Rescue), and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Karangasem to search for his whereabouts.

The family even consulted Balian (traditional healers) for help, who have claimed the boy is still alive, Rendang police Chief Ketut Suartika Adnyana told Tribun.

Adnyana says a search for Adigunu was done until the middle of Mt. Agung’s slopes—police suspect he got lost around the mountain.

The police chief says they don’t believe Adiguna fell because there are no steep cliffs from around where he went missing.

“Our search also involves dogs. But there is no sign of (Adiguna). But we will continue our search for the victim,” Suartika said.

We hope he still alive and found soon!
