Save dolphins from tiny Bali pool campaign gathers steam with 300k petition signatures and celebrity support (VIDEO)

A campaign urging the release of some dolphins confined to a disturbingly small chlorinated pool in Bali is taking off, especially after a video was recently released, showing just how tiny their enclosure is.

A petition started on change.org a couple of weeks ago, calling out Wake Bali Dolphin in Gianyar, Bali for keeping four dolphins in shocking conditions as a tourist attraction. Created by Australian surfer Craig Brokensha, the petition demanding government action for the sake of these poor dolphins already has over 300,000 signatures.

Unfortunately, unacceptable dolphin treatment doesn’t end there. News Corp Australia also reports that another Bali hotel, the Melka Excelsior Dolphin and Wildlife Resort in Lovina, has a similar “dolphin experience” for tourists.

Celebrities have also spoken up, lending their voices to the campaign to help it grow in popularity. These reportedly include surfing legend Kelly Slater, actors Adrian Grenier and Erica Durance, singers Leona Lewis and Guy Sebastian, and model Sheridyn Fisher.

Since receiving so much fire, Wake Bali Dolphin responded to the campaign last week, insisting that everything they are doing is perfectly legal with the proper government permits.
