A middle-aged Russian woman was found lying on the ground, seemingly unconscious, on Saturday at a farm in Ungasan. Thankfully, she seems to be okay.
A clip of the Russian national, who was identified as 49-year-old IK, went viral over the weekend. Farm owner Wayan Silib, who lives in Banjar Wanagiri, said he found IK unconscious and lying on empty shopping bags near the cowshed at around 6:30am on Saturday.
“I was going to check on the cows [and] there she was,” Wayan said.
Villagers suspect IK was inebriated and somehow made her way to the farm. Due to a language barrier, the villagers were not able to ascertain any information from IK.
South Kuta Police Chief I Nyoman Karang Adiputra said in a statement sent to Coconuts Bali that the villagers alerted local public order officers to check on IK. Once they arrived at the scene, the officers called an ambulance because IK was unresponsive when they tried to wake her up.
“Moments later the foreign citizen woke up and, while still wobbly, left the location,” Nyoman Adiputra said.
Nyoman added that the Russian woman was “only sleeping” at the farm. The authorities let her leave the location without obtaining any statements due to, again, the language barrier.
As such, the police have no theory as to how IK found herself sleeping on the farm.
