A Russian man authorities say is depressed may require psychiatric help after he was caught, on camera and by officers, walking along a street in Ubud completely butt-naked.

Footage of the incident has gone viral, showing the Russian national, who police identified as Kirkir Burgur, walking on Jalan Raya Andong with his back to the camera. He was soon apprehended by Gianyar Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers.

“He was apprehended while walking in a state of undress,” Ubud Police Chief I Gusti Ngurah Yudistira said today.

As one would have guessed, Burgur did not have any form of identity documents on him, and he was not able to tell the officers where he was staying.

“From his behavior and the way he spoke, it’s apparent that he’s depressed,” Yudistira said.

After they gave him clothes to wear, authorities sent Burgur for a mental health evaluation at the Bangli Psychiatric Hospital. They have also alerted the Russian Consulate General in Bali about his situation.
