Immigration authorities in Bali have put out a public notice in search of two Russian fugitives — one of whom is reportedly on Interpol’s Red Notice list — who have been on the loose since Thursday.

Andrei Kovalenka escaped from Ngurah Rai Immigration Office on Thursday afternoon, as he was being moved to the immigration detention center in Denpasar.

Prior to bolting, Kovalenka, who is also known by his alias Andrew Ayer, had just received a visit from a Russian woman named Ekaterina Trubkina. She is believed to have assisted Kovalenka.

“Andrew escaped during the administration process of moving from the Immigration Office in Ngurah Rai to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center, after he was visited by his female colleague named Ekaterina Trubkina from Russia,” Putu Suhendra Tresnadita, who heads the information and communication department at the office, said during a press conference.

Putu said that Andrew Ayer is an Interpol fugitive who is on its Red Notice list. The 32-year-old was previously serving time in Kerobokan Prison for a narcotics case, he added.

As of this morning, a spokesman from the Immigration Office said there has been no significant development in the search. Authorities published details of the two fugitives online over the weekend, as they seek assistance from the public.

“If you see this person please inform the Department of Intelligence and Enforcement [at the] Immigration Office of Ngurah Rai on +6285942971991,” the notice said.
