The big bucks are apparently getting put towards Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport.
To “improve airport services,” Ngurah Rai will see Rp 15 billion invested to pave over the runway, reports Tribun Bali.
This will be a total overlay and not just a touch up on the 45 by 3,000 meters runway, says airport GM Trikora Harjo.
Harjo also said more CCTV units will be added to the terminal building and the airport will upgrade its CCTV face detection capabilities, along with the addition of infrared CCTV to secure the outside edges of the airport.
Could this emphasis on security have something to do with Bali’s current anti-terrorism obsession? Probably.
