Riot simulation held at Denpasar District Court, just in case

Denpasar Police simulated a “raging riot” on Friday at Denpasar District Court.

Police say they put on the simulation to make sure they are prepared for the possibility of mass protest and anguish against a court decision.

Today was a part of a series of simulations Denpasar Police is working on in conjunction with West Denpasar Police, the Denpasar District Court, Denpasar District Attorney, and BPBD (Regional Disaster Management).

“So we are training our personnel skills to be ready to carry out their duties, especially at the Denpasar District Court,” Denpasar Police Superintendent Nyoman Artana told Tribun Bali

He further explained that the court seems to be facing increased cases that involve mass organizations or unpopular outcomes.

Off the top of our heads we can think of a handful of controversial cases awaiting judgement that who knows, could trigger such wild reactions, like the murder of Bali Policeman and the alleged Aussie pedophile accused of assaulting tens of minors, to name a few.
