A rabid dog that reportedly bit 11 people in one day in Jembrana, Bali has refocused attention on Bali’s rabies struggle.
As many as 161 villages are infected with the virus in Bali, reports Tribun Bali. And that’s up from the 155 villages that were reportedly infected with rabies for the first six months of 2015.
In early September, there was another “biting attack” in Bumi Makepung, which reportedly caused dozens of residents across four villages to test positive for rabies.
Apparently the call by Bali’s deputy governor for religious cleansing ceremonies has not been enough to wipe out the disease off our island.
