A TikTok video showing long queues at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport should figuratively raise our collective eyebrows with Indonesia facing a new surge in COVID-19 cases, but an airport official is hopeful for even more arrivals; as long as health protocols are observed, of course.
The video, which was taken just yesterday, showed people forming lines to check in for their flights at Ngurah Rai.

Ngurah Rai spokesman Taufan Yudhistira told Kumparan today that Bali has seen high numbers for both departures and arrivals since last weekend.
Yesterday, there were reportedly around 7,000 passengers arriving in Bali, while more than 8,000 flew out of the province.
“We hope there continues to be an increase [in passengers]. Noting that all passengers must be disciplined with health protocols, wash their hands often, and use their masks properly,” Taufan said.
Taufan added the airport has seen about 80 percent passenger increase in June compared to May, and is expecting a steady arrival of passengers for the rest of the month.
