Qatar Airways, the flag carrier of Qatar, has officially become the latest airway to join Bali’s direct flights’ list as their Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner plane landed at the Ngurah Rai International Airport over the weekend after flying from Doha.

Local outlets reported that the Qatar Airways plane landed on Sunday at 05:31pm and was greeted by a water salute from the airport. Flight QR-960 landed in Bali carrying 222 passengers and flew back under the code QR-961 to Doha yesterday at 1:27am carrying 103 passengers.

The Doha-Denpasar flight is one of the most popular routes among travelers who wish to travel in and out of the Island of Gods. The reactivation of Qatar Airways’ direct Bali flight is the first from the Middle East since the pandemic and is expected to further boost tourism in Bali.

“We are delighted to resume flight services from and to Denpasar, Bali,” Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said in a written statement.

Going forward, the Doha-Denpasar flight is scheduled to fly every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, while the Denpasar-Doha flight is scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

As of March 2022, 13,761 travelers have arrived in Bali since the island gradually reopened to international visitors last October.

As of now, there are direct flights available to Bali from Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur with various airlines such as Garuda Indonesia, Scoot, Jetstar Airways, Malaysia Airlines, and AirAsia.
