Qatar Airways is soon adding a third daily direct flight to Bali from its hub, Doha.

Kicking off on May 7 on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the airline believes that the new flight is “certain to be popular,” as it will be another link to Bali from Qatar’s extensive network in Europe, the Middle East, and the US.

A development that the government is surely excited about since it will better help Bali reach its ambitious 2017 foreign arrivals target.

“We are delighted to confirm that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will operate the third frequency on this route, offering the very latest in design and comfort to passengers, complemented by our other wide-body aircraft, the Boeing 777 and Airbus A330,” Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar al-Baker said.

Qatar Airways opened up its first direct flight to Bali in 2014, later adding an additional flight to make it twice daily.

The news comes right as rival airline Emirates announced it will be upping its own daily service from Dubai to Bali to twice-daily frequency, starting in July.
