Police are leaving nothing to chance in the domestic arrivals terminal of Benoa Harbor, as they reportedly are increasing security measures.
Whether it’s targeting drugs, illicit duck meat, or shark fins, we can’t say for sure, but given the amount of wacky reports of attempted smugglings in Bali, police could be trying harder to prevent illegal stuff coming through Bali’s domestic borders.
Denpasar Police Chief Anak Agung Made Sudana said the operation launched on Tuesday is to check the number of people who enter Bali via the Benoa port.
“This is to anticipate and avoid unwanted incidents. Sort of policing before they actually stay in Bali,” Sudana told Tribun Bali.
He also said this is being done to minimize the level of interference in its jurisdiction. Because who wants thing to get messy with Lombok and other Indonesian neighbors, right?
“This is a preventative measure. Prevention from the beginning,” he added.
