A woman in Denpasar was found dead in her home yesterday evening in the city’s latest homicide case, with police saying she may have been killed after she was hit in the head with a small gas tank.

The victim, identified as 49-year-old SW, was found dead with multiple head wounds, the Denpasar City Police said today.

Before SW’s body was discovered, a witness reportedly heard a racket coming from the victim’s home and saw two men and a woman getting on a red motorbike before speeding away from the scene.

“Then the witness looked for the landlord to tell him that there was a racket happening in his rented house,” Denpasar City Police spokesman, I Ketut Sukadi, said.

He explained that officers found a 3 kilogram gas canister stained with blood at the scene and money strewn around on the floor. Police are now in pursuit of possible suspects.

At least four women, including SW, have been found murdered in Denpasar in recent months. A 14-year-old boy was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison in late January for the gruesome murder of a bank teller in Denpasar, who was found stabbbed to death in December.
