A police officer was stabbed in front of a nightclub in Legian last night after reportedly defending his female friend from a harasser.

JS, 37, was reportedly hanging out at Paddy’s Pub with a group of friends yesterday evening when one of them was groped by another clubgoer.

The woman, whose identity was not disclosed by the police, immediately alerted JS, triggering a brawl between him and the alleged harasser and his group of friends.

According to an eyewitness, Paddy’s security officers threw both men out of the club because of the brawl.

At around 3:30am, JS was reportedly stabbed in his back by two unknown men on Legian street. He is currently being treated at a hospital.Bali Police spokesman Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto told Coconuts that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
