Police in Bali are investigating a video that went viral yesterday depicting a foreign male scratching multiple cars that were parked along Legian Beach in Kuta.

Denpasar Police Chief Bambang Yugo Pamungkas made the announcement to the press yesterday.

“We just received information about the incident; we don’t know the identity of the foreigner yet. Currently, we are still investigating,” stated the official.

The incident came to light after a video surfaced on social media, reportedly shared by the Instagram account @evanentong, showing the foreigner, dressed in a long-sleeved black shirt, walking alongside parked cars while carrying a surfboard.

The individual is seen scratching the bodies of at least three parked cars.

Upon being confronted by the recorder of the video, reported to be the owner of one of the damaged cars, the foreigner denied the accusations.

“What are you doing? Why do [you scratch] my car?” asked the person filming.

The foreigner replied, “What are you talking about?”

Despite the denial, the video recorder persisted and asked the foreigner to show their hand as the former suspected he was holding a sharp object that he used to damage the cars. The foreigner, however, evaded the request and attempted to hide his hand.

The exact motive behind the actions of the foreigner remains unclear, and the police are expected to continue their investigation to ascertain the individual’s identity and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
