A Russian man in his 30s was found dead with slash wounds all over his body in his room at a Kerobokan hotel, police said.
The victim was identified by his initials OA and his body was found at the Oyo Leluhur Hotel at around midday yesterday. According to Bali Police spokesman Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, the 36-year-old checked himself into the hotel on Monday and was supposed to leave yesterday.
Hotel staff tried to call OA yesterday at around 11am to confirm his checkout, but received no response. OA’s friend, VS, reportedly also contacted the hotel, saying that the victim did not respond to his calls.
Hotel staff later broke into OA’s room and found his body in the bathroom with slash wounds on his neck, arms, and thighs. They also found a knife next to his body.
Bayu Setianto said that the police are still investigating the case.
“We’re still waiting for autopsy results,” he told Coconuts.
