An Australian man died suddenly on Wednesday morning after ordering breakfast in the restaurant of his hotel in Kuta, Bali.
The man had reportedly collapsed around 9 am at the rooftop restaurant on the fourth floor of the 101 Legian Bali Hotel without warning and could not be revived. Authorities believe the 50-year-old suffered a heart attack, reports News Corp Australia.
But his cause of death needs to be confirmed via autopsy. Denpasar police chief, Anak Agung Made Sudana, reportedly said that police were communicating with the Australian Consulate in Bali to determine whether the man’s family would permit an autopsy.
“The victim died a sudden death. It may be caused by a heart attack. But we need an autopsy to find the cause,” Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Alit of Sanglah Hospital’s forensics lab said, as quoted by News Corp.
The deceased man checked into his Kuta hotel on April 19 and had reportedly booked until April 29.
