A British man was arrested last week in Kuta by Narcotics Police and thrown into prison.
Denpasar Police Chief Inspector Nyoman Artana said the Brit’s arrest stemmed from public tips.
The man, identified by initials KH, was apparently seen often walking around with a syringe, attributed to drug use. Upon receiving this information, police surveilled KH for a week before making their arrest, Artana said.
“We stopped the suspect, but the suspect fled. However, we were able to catch him and he eventually confessed after a syringe was found in his motorbike,” Artana told Tribun Bali on Tuesday.
After that, police found four packages of meth in a safety box, which has since been confiscated as evidence.
The Brit admitted to buying meth in the past two days and said he bought the drugs from a man named Wayan (which really narrows it down!) at Kuta Beach for Rp 4 million.
“The arrest was made on Monday, July 25. We’re still building the case and investigating the suspect.”
KH had been staying at a hotel on Jl. Sriwijaya, Legian.
