PT PLN (Persero) is adding an extra boost to the Java-Bali power network.
“With two SUTET (extra high pressure air duct) circuits in operation, PLN will be able to increase the supply of electricity by 2,400 MW,” PLN spokesman Agung Murdifi said in Jakarta yesterday, as quoted by the newspaper Kedaulatan Rakyat.
“This will be an essential input for strengthening the Java-Bali electricity infrastructure,” Murdifi added. An infrascture that those of us living and traveling in Bali have most likely noticed could definitely use some more juice.
The additional energy supply is apparently sourced by a steam power plant in Central Java.
The first circuit has been in operation since Sept. 22, 2015 while the second started operation on Jan. 20, this year, the spokesman explained. Let’s hope this spells less outages for us.
