Photos posted on Thursday of a ‘Saudi princess’ all dressed up in a traditional Balinese outfit quickly went viral with many Indonesian netizens reveling in the beauty of the ‘royal’.
Saudi King Salman is currently vacationing in Bali and brought an entourage of over 1000 with him, other family members included.
But it turns out, the woman pictured was yes, still associated with the Saudi party, but is not a Saudi, nor a royal. The woman is actually said to be a British flight attendant working for the Saudi group, according to a Tribun Bali report.
The local newspaper interviewed the owner of the spa, I Wayan Adi Suwiran, 49, where the photo was posted, about the mix-up.

“We are really sorry, I need to straighten out the news circulating about the (woman) coming here, who was part of the king’s entourage,” Suwiran said on Thursday.
Suwiran says he does not know the woman’s name, but she did come to his spa earlier to do a Bali fashion photo package.
He says he uploaded the photos to his Facebook because he was proud that members of the royal entourage came to his spa. Suwiran apparently did not write that the woman pictured was part of the Saudi royal family, just part of the Saudi group, but people started writing in the comments that she was a princess and from there, the whole thing spun out.
