Pee comes back clean in Tabanan military drug testing

As many as 100 members of the Indonesian military serving in Tabanan, Bali lined up to pee in cups on Wednesday.

The military personnel were having their urine tested as a part of a narcotics screening program to “set a good example” and show how great of “role models” military officers can be.

Lt. Col Agus W Nugroho explained to Tribun Bali that the testing is supporting the government’s program to create a drug-free military. The drug testing is in cooperation with the Bali branch of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and similar tests are being done in Singaraja and Pulaki.

Unlike the three police officers in Klungkung who tested positive for drugs and have “tarnished” the force’s reputation, no military members tested positive in Tabanan this time around. Role models, indeed.
