Looks like North Bali police are not the only ones having success with catching drug violators with “Operasi Antik.”
Denpasar Police has arrested 15 drug suspects over the past 12 days of anti-narcotics operation, “Operasi Antik.”
Of the 15 suspects accused of using and/or dealing drugs, one of them is reportedly a minor.
Denpasar Police Senior Commissioner Anak Agung Made Sudana explained that the operation is following President Joko Widodo’s instructions to crack down on narcotics.
“Under the president’s instructions, narcotics abuse is an extraordinary crime. Therefore, we are aggressively combatting narcotics violations,” Sudana said on Tuesday morning, as quoted by Tribun Bali.
Sudana says Denpasar Police are handling more narcotics cases now compared with the same time last year.
Of the 15 suspects, seven are scheduled to be rehabilitated, while the remaining eight are detained.
As evidence, as many as 200 crystals of methamphetamine weighing 58.76 grams and 49.94 grams of marijuana were confiscated.
