One of the two fishermen who went missing earlier this week while fishing around Tanah Lot in Tabanan regency was found dead on a beach this morning. The Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) in Bali said they are still searching for the other person.

Basarnas Bali launched a search and rescue mission to locate the missing fishermen, identified as Wayan Sumiarta and Ketut Ardika, in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to an official statement from the agency, the pair went out to fish late on Monday night around Tanah Lot but did not return after midnight. Basarnas Bali suspected they may have been swept away by the waves.

Unfortunately, 43-year-old Sumiarta was found dead on Kelating Beach in Kerambitan sub-district of Tabanan at 6am this morning. Meanwhile, a search and rescue mission is still underway for 58-year-old Ardika.
