The criminal investigation unit of North Kuta Police is searching for an alleged Italian villa thief after arresting a woman from Lombok who says she was working with a foreign partner.

When Nasmin, 52, from Lombok, was arrested last week, she apparently told police she had an Italian co-conspirator, with initials DN.

“We secured the villa thief suspect on April 17 around 6pm. There are a series of cases she is a suspected in,” North Kuta criminal investigation unit Insp. Puta Ika Prabawa.

To steal from their victims, the pair would allegedly come over for drinks and take advantage of their victims when they were off guard.

“After the victim fell asleep, their stuff would get stolen,” Prabawa told Tribun Bali.

The pair is accused of lifting quite the range of things including jewelry, wallets, cash, and electronics.
